Locations & Setup

Do you operate outside Auckland?

Yes! We travel across the North Island. Currently, we do not operate in the South Island.

What does setup involve?

We need access to the venue at least 60 minutes prior to setup.

We also require:

  • Single-phase power within 20m (we bring cords)
  • Safe surface for activity setup (grass is ideal for inflatables)

Do you provide staff?

Yes! Promoking provides trained staff for setup, supervision, and pack-down. For some events you may offer extra helpers—please organise them via local community pages. If they don’t arrive, we may pause the activity until it’s safe to proceed.

Please Note: All mechanical rides require compulsory staff / supervision (Promoking) at all times.

What if I can't provide staff I agreed to?

If agreed staff are missing, we may pause the activity until it's safe to proceed. Safety always comes first.

Safety & Compliance

Are permits required for mechanical rides?

Yes, mechanical rides like the Bull or Wave Rider require a WorkSafe permit, which we’ll apply for in advance.

Are your electrical cords tested and tagged?

Yes, all cords and devices are tested and tagged every 12 months.

What happens in bad weather?

We install inflatables only if wind gusts are under 20 km/hr. Installation is cancelled above 30 km/hr per WorkSafe NZ rules.

Activities in light rain are generally safe, but may be paused in heavy showers. We recommend having an indoor backup plan.

Do you carry insurance and comply with regulations?

Yes, we handle all amusement device permits and follow WorkSafe NZ guidelines. All staff are trained in safety procedures and supervised operation.

Logistics

How do I plan an event outside your local region?

You’ll need to allow for:

  • $35/hour travel per vehicle
  • $125/night accommodation if required
We’ll quote these in advance for transparency.

How long do inflatables take to dry if wet?

In summer: a few hours in sun.

In winter: may need multiple sunny days to fully dry.

What cleaner is safe to use on inflatables?

Only use citrus-based cleaners. Avoid anything with ammonia or caustic soda—it damages the material.
